Q. Who will take the photographs at my wedding?
A. I will be your photographer on th day and will we have met beforehand to discuss the timings and any particular shots you would like me to capture. I have an assistant who works with me at a majority of weddings but she will be working under my guidance. I would not send another photographer in my place.
Q. What will happen if it’s raining on the day?
A. This isn’t a problem, in most cases I can find a suitable location for any formal photographs. Additionally I carry a set of large white umbrellas with me in case of such weather. I have used these at a couple of past weddings and the photos still looked good.
Q. You state all day coverage, how long is this?
A. Typically I start from the time we agree in advance right through until after the first dance. Examples of some recent weddings have started at 10.30am and finished at approximately 10.30pm, 12 hours in all. I have also covered a wedding which I finished at 1am, though there would be an additional charge past 11pm of £100.00.
Q. What will happen if you fall ill?
A. In the first instance I will endeavour to find a suitably experienced replacement. I have the benefit of knowing a number of people in the area who I can contact in the event I cannot attend your wedding. If this is not possible a full refund will be offered.
Q. Do you have backup equipment in case something fails?
A. I carry at least two professional level cameras to each wedding along with a selection of high quality lenses and flashguns. I cannot risk using a single camera for it to have problems during the day. I also use multiple memory cards to minimise the risk of data loss and a some point during the day I will copy the images to a laptop for backup.
Q. Do you have insurance?
A. I have full professional insurance which includes both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity cover.
Q. When do I get to see my photographs?
A. Roughly 3-4 weeks after your wedding I will supply a DVD, a proof book or both depending on the particulars of your wedding package. From that point you will be able to choose which images you would like to have in your wedding album. The number of images depends on the size of the alvum and more information can be found on the wedding packages page.
Q. Can guests at my wedding see the photographs?
A. Certainly, however I tend to wait until you, the couple have seen them all first. Unless specifically asked I won’t create an online gallery until you have viewed your photos and given me the OK to do so.
Q. I have the image files included in my package does this mean I have copyright?
A. No it doesn’t, copyright will stay with the photographer in other words me. One of the reasons for this is because I use many images from weddings to promote my business and therefore keep ownership of my work. If you have purchased the image files you are quite welcome to get you own prints made or use them on social networking sites, I will even provide a lettered granting permission to do this as some printers do ask.
